Booking & Scheduling

Distance & Zone Calculation
Your address is geocoded to determine your service zone and any applicable distance surcharge. This calculation happens on our server — your address is never shared with other customers.
Payment Processing
To charge for services at the time of booking, apply account credits from cancellations, and process zone surcharges through Stripe.
Communication
To send booking confirmations, service updates, photo updates during walks, cancellation notices, and credit balance notifications. We will never sell your email or send unsolicited marketing.
Pet Care Quality
Pet health information, behavioral notes, and care preferences are used to provide the best possible care for your pet during each visit.

We use the following trusted third-party services to operate Happy Tails Pet Care. Each has its own privacy policy governing how they handle data.

Google Maps
Address geocoding to convert your street address into coordinates for distance and zone calculation. Only your address is sent to Google.

Appointment scheduling and availability management. Your booking details (name, service, time) are stored as calendar events.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with any third parties for marketing purposes. Data is only shared with the services listed above as necessary to provide our pet care services.
4. Data Security

All data transmitted between your browser and our servers is encrypted using SSL/TLS (HTTPS). Data at rest is stored on secured servers.
Stripe Security
Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe, which is PCI DSS Level 1 certified — the highest level of payment security certification.
Access Controls
Only authorized personnel (Lorena and designated team members) have access to customer data. All access is authenticated and logged.
5. Address Storage & Zone Calculation
When you provide your address, we store it along with the geocoded coordinates and your calculated service zone. This allows us to:
- check Automatically apply the correct distance surcharge to future bookings
- check Calculate travel time between appointments for accurate scheduling
- check Provide directions to your home for service visits
You can update your address at any time, and the zone surcharge will be recalculated automatically. Your address is never shared with other customers or used for marketing.
